The same bird then started serious circling in a Thermal, though obviously not a very strong one.
From 64 continuous frames of one complete circle we offer the montage of 'highlights'
Our paint package just can't handle image big enough to cover the whole event in one go.
If any of you want a lengthy distraction and have a paint package to match, please
let us know and we will 'zip' up the 64 pics and put them on the web site for you to collect.

Buzzards appears on suitable days, sunny with clouds with warm
and cold patches to create thermals. This unbroken sequence is
alternate frames at 7 fps so this is about 4 seconds of flight.
The wind was from the 'right' and you can see how it effects the
speed of the bird (hopefully ignoring cloud movement).

The weak sun touches the tail feathers of this Buzzard trying to make the most
of a rather weak Thermal. This is an impression only - the bird travelled probably
50m between first and last images.

A few minutes after yesterdays crow & buzzard montage the buzzard came back.
Despite the air temperature of about 5C it was sunny and it was
rising slowly in a thermal over the South sloping field to our
North. We were quite surprised that this near the winter solstice
even the midday sun had this much heating effect.

Our old friend the gap-winged Buzzard had a brief fly-by, of which this is
an impression

A wonderful bit of luck with the flyover of this Buzzard.
Here are two close spaced celebration of the single flight.

We had hoped to use the vague cloud edges to make this an
accurate montage, but just couldn't work out which edges were
which, so made another 'impression' of the Buzzard flyover

sudden appearance of a human.

We were thrilled to get a continuous unbroken sequence of 67
images of buzzard circling in front of us & then flying away. But
trying to turn this into an accurate representation turned out to
be a frustrating and argumentative session when image overlaps
and alignments just didn't work against areas of bland sky. So
here are 2 segments of the action - the fist 10 of these are
accurately montaged at 5 fps, but the remainder are mostly
guesswork and memory.

The featureless background of this twisting and turning Buzzard
means we just show you the twists and turns as it turned to
depart. The gaps between the images of the bird is about half
what it probably was.

This Buzzard wings past with this disgusting looking mess of very-dead Rabbit
messing up the bird's aerodynamics. The voracious chicks will be pleased.

After a mid-air argument with a Rook, this Buzzard did a circle
round and flew right by the camerman at low level. For once the camera was
set up just right. This is two successive frames arbitrarily spaced.
