Here we have a Buzzard spiralling across the sky.

The real size of the circles is many times as big as this, but a spiral of 'brown dots' is
not very satisfying. So here we offer an 'impression' made from a genuine sequence
from an original over 100 frames.

A Kestrel suddenly appears over the meadow and makes a few threatening passes above the Buzzard,
never getting quite close enough to appear in the fixed camera's frame.
Here the Buzzard is following the bird across the sky.

A breeze and sunshine brought out the local 3 buzzards and
one of them came close enough to us for some portraits

A solitary buzzard found a thermal right over our patch and
up it went, but not before we caught this portrait.

We have at least 5 buzzards seen together a few times soaring in
the thermals over and near our patch. You would think this was
the middle of nowhere rather than a few miles outside Milton
Keynes. One or two of them are particularly voluble as here
flying directly overhead (guess 20m high).

For a couple of weeks this Buzzard spent a lot of time perched on
the Crossbars of the 11KV overhead cable. On this afternoon the
bird flew from this nearer crossbar down into the stubble of the
recently harvested Oil-seed.

The bird stayed on the stubble for about a minute, not obviously
catching anything (but we may have missed it), and then took off
back towards the high voltage poles.

As the sun gains some warmth we have started seeing Buzzards
using the local thermals to gain height. Usually single birds as here,
but so far up to 3 in a single shaft of rising air.

A closer view of the light coloured Buzzard shows the wings in a shorter and
broader configuration, probably better for gliding rather than 'shaking off' the Rook.

What seemed to the eye to be a momentary interaction between
these two buzzards turns out to have been a rather more serious
attack. These 3 montages show the action at about 5 fps (frames
per second) of little more than 2 seconds of action. Read the
montages left to right in the order presented.
