Light just right to pick up the colours even if the face is turned away.

Our first sighting of a Red Kite since Sep 2013, seen by chance from a Window followed by a stampede for the camera and better view. These two images taken several seconds apart show both sides of the wing.

3 Red Kites spent a few days roosting in an Ash tree 150m away, and would be active soon after sunrise

For a couple of minutes this Red Kite wheels round us.

The sightings of our regular large Raptors (Buzzards, and here a Red Kite) have increased this week. These early morning rich colours are 'un-fudged'.

A Red Kite glides by quietly turning towards us, giving us a good look at the top of the bird you don't often see. Very close to accurately spaced.

A Red Kite made quite a low pass over, and we caught this detailed moment.

A Red Kite flying by shown in accurate positions at 7 fps (based on power poles out of this crop).

A Red Kite appeared out of nowhere and glided majestically past but we soon 'lost' it behind a hedge. This is at about 10 frames/sec accurately positioned

This montage of the kite flying overhead is at 10fps (tenth of a second between images) and the clouds allow an accurately spaced montage.

The Red Kite flying into a headwind, flapping rather than a relaxed glide, disappears behind the trees.

This Red Kite made a languid passage over the surrounding fields. There is about 1.5 seconds of flight here.

The Red Kite was biting pieces from the prey (a Rodent judging by the tail) as it flew majestically along.

The other Red Kite winged it's way by, eating it's 'lunch' as it went.
Did the corvids want to get rid of the bird, or to steal it's catch?

One of two Red Kites flew about for a couple of minutes, continuously harassed by Corvids before departing. This Jackdaw couldn't keep up with the much bigger bird.

Rooks are larger than Jackdaws and can just about keep up with a Red Kite.

Our description of a three-quarter turn here is almost accurate but we had not realised the Red Kite changed direction and flew off. This is about 1 frame in 4 (a bit less than a second per image) compacted to keep the whole design at a reasonable size.

For a few days 3 Red Kites have been frequenting the area on all four sides as harvesting and re-seeding progresses.

This Red Kite being pursued by a carrion crow - the crow is just about able to keep up. On another occasion we observed that Jackdaws can't keep up with Red Kites even if the kite is not trying to get away.
