This Great Tit looks a bit more than usually willing to defend it's position. The peanuts in the feeder to the left may save its life in this cold weather.

This year's 'truce' seems to be at an end now that parents are frantically feeding their every-demanding chicks.

4 days and a few minutes later we were surprised to find this almost identical event again at the right edge of the frame.

Robins have been flying low over the ground level sites providing some clear images in flight, this one with the bird's shadow on the stone.

We sometimes see a robin hovering over water to pick off floating food. While testing a setup to photograph this (even though it was icy when they just land!) happy chance got this. The unusual look isn't flash - light reflecting off ice has strange effects.

3 images of a (possibly just one individual) Robin maneuvering in the air over the perch. 3 moments over 100 minutes arranged for artistic effect.
Don't interpret this as a 'bird in flight accurate montage'!

Robins are basically aggressive birds who suppress antagonism to their breeding partner for a few months of family raising. So this is presumably an extra-family affair as these two Robins squabble over who 'owns' the bird table.

The Robin wants exactly the place the male chaffinch is occupying - of course!

The Robin is unusually sharp, so lets enjoy a close-up

The apparently joyous faces are at odds with the reality. Both birds want control of the perch to the peanuts out of frame to the left.

The delivery flight for the 06:15 breakfast of green caterpillars to a nestful of youngsters we know not where - there are lots of good places to nest.

Continuing our unintentional 'birds twisting in flight' sequence, this young robin's body is almost inverted with head almost vertical.
'Look mum - upside down flying - ouch'.

No aggressive feet positions so we just can't stop ourselves seeing a faceful of joy on the bird at the left greeting his mate (single frame).
