The circling Red Kite then flew right overhead as it used it's potential energy to head off south.

This Red Kite flying towards us starts to bank and turn off to the side ...

This Red Kite made a graceful turn in front of us over perhaps 4 seconds. Bird spacings are just for appearance.

In a currently rare spell of sunshine, one of two Red Kites on the wing at the same time makes an elegant glide past us.

Red Kites have, in our 30 year tenure, become a delight to watch, thanks to an army of enthusiasts working on their re-introduction. When the sun is low in the sky, as here, the underside of the birds are struck by an ever changing pattern of light and shadow.

After the Buzzard on the meadow post, the next day brought a series of Red Kite fly-overs and circles in Thermals.

This Red Kite flew past us really rather slowly against the northerly wind, much more interested in eating his most recent kill than in the humans on the ground. Read this sequence right to left.
