The plot is delightfully full of unidentifiable juvenile brown birds of various sizes! But we are fairly sure this is a juvenile Blackbird.

A nice portrait of a female blackbird at the remote site. Comparing the various images of female blackbirds over the last month we conclude we have no idea how many individuals there are!

At another site a week later we catch (presumably) another youngster begging from Dad.

Next morning it had started snowing, so here is probably the same Blackbird on the endless hunt for food, tail encrusted with ice.

The female Blackbird owning this site is presumably taking a few minutes off the eggs to feed and preen.

Still mainly the male blackbirds at the photo sites though we see a reasonable mix when out and about, so this shot of one of the 'girls' gets her outing.

The male immigrant Blackbird has a really black coating on the beak, but the female of the same type sports a brown coating.

An immigrant female Blackbird has selected a little piece of fruit, which may be a small sultana, in the tip of her beak.

One of our migrant female Blackbirds (without any yellow on the beak) carrying off a piece of dry Blackberry fruit at the tip of the beak.

A female Blackbird with wings already folded before completing touchdown. This bird has the 'yellowish' beak we associate with the UK residents rather than winter migrants.
