This blackbird has something in his beak as he walks along this log lying on the Round Mound.
We have to assume that another worm is on their way into a chicks maw.

An hour later at the same site Dad is obviously still busy collecting
worms and other items for that ever open craw.

This Blackbird wasn't too happy to have his hunting expedition interrupted
by us pesky humans, but we kept still so he carried on his hunt.
When first spotted he had in his beak this Yellow Underwing Moth.

It seems the Yellow Underwing Moth wasn't enough, and male
Blackbird carried on searching the grass and suddenly an extra
insect appeared in his beak - it might be a Cranefly. A good meal
for hungry youngsters no doubt.

Fruit is a useful sugary food for birds in the winter. The top 2
frames of this male Blackbird are in the same minute, the last
looks like a return 25 minutes later for some more apple. We
don't know what moved the apple.

Rooting about on a leaf strewn woodland path, this male Blackbird found a
good sized worm. It took less than a minute to swallow it whole.

This male Blackbird is first seen briefly on the Meadow post, and a minute later (given
clock settings drift) dives down a few metres to the Meadow site to grab some
unfortunate meal for his chicks - unfortunate for the meal, not the chicks.

Often seen fossicking about at this site when we visit it, but
rarely both by the log at the same time.
