Very occasional sightings of a Little Egrets is here supplemented by an arrival of this one on the tip of a tree ...

A couple of frames on from the above, the egret might have noticed us, but we are apparently in the 'harmless' category!

A slightly horizontally stretched montage (at about 7 fps) of a little Egret Flying past.

Another Little Egret flyby along the side of our patch. Even taken at about 7 frames/second these images are show much to close together to get them into one image.

Accurate montage (at about 7 fps) of a little Egret Flying past.

After the initial excitement of a small flock of Little Egrets a few weeks ago, sighting are rare. This one was flying fast 'with the wind' here photographed at 7 frames per second - so a bit over half a second of flight here.
The church spire is that of Hanslope Church.
The wires are courtesy of the National Grid, put up about a decade ago and have spoiled the Northern view ever since.

This lovely Little Egret (species common name) flew along the brook, and then unexpectedly turned round and came back a bit closer giving time to get the camera better adjusted. The very out of focus tree top in the middle is a young Lombardy Poplar along the track while lower left and right are huge trees at the brook edge. The spacing are accurate at about 7fps.

A pair of Little Egrets are making occasional forays where we can see them. This one flew by to the north - this is an accurate montage.

AH! there is the Little Egret, a speck in the distance, back from months of apparent absence. Ooh - look - its coming this way!
The strong wind means what looks like ordinary flight become a vertical climb accurately montaged using cloud edges cropped from this image.

The uniform grey sky on this montage of the egret means we can make this 'impression' undoubtedly too closely spaced.

A couple of days later possibly the same bird did a nice flyby.

At the end of this flyby we got a characteristic call.

... and then launching downwards a minute later.

A Little Egret flew around the brook and eventually came to land in a field occupied by Ewes and their lambs. Unfortunately the bird landed a bit to the left at a place hidden by trees.
The bird is accurately montaged at about 7 fps but the 3 sheep bottom right have been moved left a little for a better effect.

An occasional view of 2 recently re-appeared Little Egrets delights us. This is an accurate montage of one of them at about 7 fpsBR What a beautiful pristine bird against the drab tones of a murky day!

Another irregular sighting of a Little Egret.
Here most of the feet are again black with mud, but this time the claw tips are clearly the yellow we expect for this species.

Its right overhead!
The uniform grey sky on this montage of the egret means we can make this 'impression' undoubtedly too closely spaced.

After several weeks of only distant sightings (usually just one) of a pair of Little Egrets, this one did us proud with this flyover catching the light in a magical way. This is 3 successive frames in the right order over about 0.3 seconds but montaged purely for effect.

Ref: 20110730_df1_20110622_1108_095-97 little egret flying overhead @ 7fps 1-3 of 5 (artistic montage)(r+mb id@768).jpg

This Little Egret flew right over our meadow. This montaged selection of images is for enjoyment rather than accuracy.

Few sightings of Little Egrets recently until this one flew by at high speed in the North East direction, and disappeared from sight.
