Who would be a Corvid parent?
Your offspring is bigger than you are and are still demanding food.
Sounds like human teenagers?

Here you can see the Red gape that the adults are keyed to fill with as much food as they can find.

Demanding (begging seems to be too weak a description!) juvenile Magpies are to be seen regularly at the hedge bottom.

"I said F O O D"
Are 'teenagers' the same regardless of species?

"Hey - I want some of that"
The second juvenile magpie flies between parent and his sibling in the hope of grabbing the food for themselves.

A young Magpie sits high in this conifer watching the world go by.
This is about 7.30 a.m. - it will soon become unpleasantly hot to sit out in the direct sunlight.

"FOOD".
This is on the tree-stump in the daytime 'gloom' inside the woodland.

The flash shines down into the young Magpies open beak, and the translucent keratin glows red at the base of the beak.

A couple of Magpie youngsters making it very clear to the adult on the right that they want - F O O D - N O W
Our first sighting of Magpie youngsters this year is in a frame a few minutes previous

Stereophonic Screeching?
We assume that the two begging Magpies are making their 'Feed Me' demand to the poor overworked parent in the middle.

A bit of confusion here - The arriving juvenile Magpie doesn't realise that the bird at the feeder is probably it's sibling and they are begging from each other.

We have repeatedly seen an adult Magpie with juveniles demanding food from either side. We guess we are seeing Mum and Dad at different time, each looking after 2 of their youngsters.
