A pair of collared doves are nesting in a evergreen whose trunk is hidden in the darkness behind the bird. Not a good angle to see the 'collar' - we hope for better.

We have a soft spot for collared doves. One of them likes perching on the chimney cowl. The 3 in flight are accurately positioned at 7 fps.

We adore these delicate collared doves which appear to be paired and probably have a nest somewhere.

A pair of collared doves canoodling on the top the mains cable post. We seem to have quite a few pairs now, with this pair usually to be found near this post. Who doesn't enjoy a scratch where you can't reach!

This pair of collared doves seem to have commandeered the 'raptor post' and spend much of the day there in contentment and affectionate mutual preening.

A few collared doves have reappeared after a short summer absence. This one perching on the main electric wires took off nicely on cue for the camera. Montage at about 7 fps is horizontally stretched to show the whole bird each time.

Collared doves have graced our site for many years, and breed in the trees. These beautiful delicate birds are unfortunately prey for sparrowhawks, but within a week or two of one being taken another will appear to make a pair. There is often a 'pool' of unpaired birds waiting to take up any vacancy.

We seem to have a number of pairs of collared doves. This pair visited one of the photo sites and took their portraits.

Aaaahhhh - a romantic supper of cherries for this pair of collared doves.

This pair of Collared doves were definitely in amorous mood and they spent 10 minutes snuggling and cooing in an willow grown from root stock of an ornamental. They didn't mate this time.

This pair of collared doves were 'playing' in the wind at sunset with the orange sunlight 'playing' over them.

Countrywide day of heavy rain (24mm in 6Hrs) had wildlife finding sheltered spots, providing our first view of this young pigeon on a gloomy mid-afternoon. Note the unfeathered base & colour of the beak which changes with maturity.

We don't usually 'go' for back views of which we get altogether too many, but this collared dove particularly appeals. Think of a Victorian lady with bustle and fantail skirt (but no corset!).

What do you do with a dead pigeon Pt 2:- This 2nd image was taken 10m after 'yesterdays'. A minute after that the pigeon was gone.

What do you do with a dead pigeon:- Feel sad for it's death but note that it was plucked (raptor rather than fox) and wasn't wasted. Then put the remains out as 'bait' and see what happens. It was put out 1Hr 40m before the first image timed at 4:19p.m. Tomorrows image concludes the sequence.

Expect we have seen them before, but this is the first image of a Stock dove we have thought good enough to keep.

Two very different birds on 2 very different wires. These pigeons on the high voltage cables just took our fancy - not the usual 'one-peck-apart'.

A pair of Wood Pigeons watched us approach and finally decided that we were close enough. About 7 fps but the frames are separated by about 50% extra gap to stop them overlapping
