As the leaves start to unfurl over the woodland area of the 2 acres, the light changes from almost as well lit as the meadow to an increasingly dark and secretive vista. This wood pigeon takes a morning selfie on the tree-stump now very loose in the ground and propped up by lumps of wood.

A good shake out to settle the feathers helps turn this juvenile Wood Pigeon's chaotic feather duster appearance back to a small sheen.

A minute later the Wood Pigeon has turned to face the prevailing wind - better than having your feather ruffled up.

Pigeons are brilliant fliers, but can be a bit clumsy when landing on a perch, here possibly whacking the occupant on the face.

A Wood Pigeon lands on the meadow post.
The light falls differently on the left and right primary feathers making them appear to be different 'shades of Grey' (perhaps even 50).
