Each of our photo sites has its own brave little robin that arrives the moment we arrive with the food bowl. This adult has produced a family this year and the first signs of molt are apparent.

An hour or so later the wind was lifting the feathers of this robin, and a beam of sunlight highlighted the straggly bits for us.

Robin with a huge worm just after dawn. Well the saying goes 'the early bird catches the worm'.

When did your partner last offer you a nice slimy worm as a token of love?

The Robin found his Christmas day afternoon snack by way of this unlucky worm. We really don't know how they find worms in the impacted sanded soil at the main feeding station, but we see a robin with a worm here a couple of times a year.

At the hedge bottom this young Robin looks healthy and perky. His red feathers will appear piecemeal over the next several weeks.

"Feed Me!"
The adult Robin on the right has an insect in its beak on the far side drooping down near the base of the beak, undoubtedly about to go down the youngster's ever open 'hatch'.

2 visits by possibly the same Robin about 4 Hours apart. Whatever the green grub is, it looks like it's the favourite.

The robins continue to display and generally show-off. Love the eye-to-eye contact.

Most pics of robins now include a pair. Perhaps, as it is leap year day, you might think the girl robin is 'popping the question' :-)

We have this theory - if you see 2 robins together and they are not fighting then they are 'in love'. Spring must be on the way.

Aha! 2 robins not locked in mortal combat - they must be courting.

From exactly this date last year at the main feeding site this single exposure contained 2 Robins, 2 Great Tits & a Blue Tit. All doing well again this year so far.

This has to be a 'pair' of robins. In our experience if you see two robins that are not fighting then they are deeply in love!
