This pair of Badgers continue to spend a lot of time romping, or whatever, at
the Round Mound and near the east hedge gap

These two Badgers tumble down the Round Mound in a ball of fur, before quietly
wandering off. Despite their toughness, even adult Badgers seem to be really playful.

We are now sure that we have at least 2 similarly pristine Badgers, the
one to the left/behind with slightly duller white fur areas.

Next night the Badgers make several visits down the Round Mound hole - from about 150
trail-cam pics here is a handful (+ one Fox).
A change (not shown) is that long abandoned rabbit holes in the south side of the mound have
been cleaned out - we guess that the Rabbits have been somewhat 'dispossessed'.

NOT a montage. We have now moved this camera - see later
2 nights later the same trail cam catches two Badgers on the Mound together.

In the margin between the farm crop and the main road this over 2 metre long
trench appeared overnight. It doesn't seem to have been touched since.
Our guess is this a mole tunnel has been dug out by a badger hoping to
catch the mole. We doubt that it had any success, and didn't bother to try
again.
Mole nurseries are substantial mounds, so this isn't an attack on youngsters.

Looks like badgers like slugs!
Bottom of the image we have a fieldmouse (wood mouse) doing its usual
coexistence with slugs. Half an hour later the badger arrived and
it looks like it quickly cleared the stone of slugs. With their poor
eyesight and probably out of view, the slug at the bottom left
of the stone may have escaped, but this was the last frame for
many hours so we don't know.

A little Fox vs Badger moment.
The Fox goes for drink in the pond, and as the fox pulls away from the water
there is a Badger approaching directly at the Fox, causing him to crouch
down and lay ears flat. It seems that is the Fox makes a speedy exit rather than
the Badger. We had never thought before about a 'pecking order' between
these two visitors.

Just before midnight, what we think is a Fox (2 eyes left) watching a Badger
foraging along the edge of Round Pond, with a pair of Mallard ducks safely
out on the water.

A Fox vs. Badger confrontation.
The Fox is already crouched (bottom left) before the badger becomes more than a
pair of reflecting eyes. As the Badger emerges from behind the tree they too
stop and we have a face-off. Adult Fox - Badger conflicts normally end up the
worse for the Fox. This is the last we see of the encounter - we hope they
avoided a needless fight.

A Great Tit with a beakful of hair.
Its a long story, but we had a dead badger (Road kill) at this
site for a few days hoping to see what came to take it away, but
whatever moved it didn't break the camera trigger beam, & dragged
it about 15 metres before leaving it. We think the Great Tit has
found some of the poor things fur stuck to the ground.
