Almost the hare and the tortoise.
Many later images (snails don't rush!) show the snail survived the
encounter unscathed.

Two Fieldmouse (Wood Mouse) visits a quarter-of-an-hour apart at the hedge bottom make
an attractive if misleading portrait.
It looks to us like the same mouse each time.

At another site this Fieldmouse (Wood Mouse) caught in mid-leap - this is a
wide view including the shadow of the mouse on the ground at the right.

These cherries weigh about 8gm and the mouse looks mid size
of range 13 to 27gm so it is probably carrying 40% of its
own weight in its mouth.

Different creatures open nuts in different ways - Google search for
hazelnut AND dormouse AND vole AND "wood mouse"
to find description and illustrations of how they each open the nut.

At another site under a hedge the mouse carries off what may be a
cherry pip, but could be some other fruit.
