A young mouse possibly having its first encounter with a leopard slug.

Frequent heavy rain floods the photo sites and creates some interesting behaviour.

Oh dear - more mice nuzzling snails - this time a very young mouse we have often seen photographed on this log in the surrounding few days.

A week before we wondered whether this fieldmouse (wood mouse) was eating the earwig on the tree-trunk top.

We use a bucket of mud slurry to repair eroded photo sites in a morning so it is firm by the end of the day when we 'bait' it. But in the cold and damp it is still sopping wet as the day ends. We don't put food on the wet mud, so this mouse is in for disappointment.
It looks like a young one - mum will not be pleased at the muddy paws?

The bottom of hedge ground level camera caught this image at the right edge of the frame. This one has to have been jumping down from climbing high in the hedge to find berries

Humans consider 30cm of snow a 'problem'. For mice it looks like a 5cm is already too much.

The fieldmice (wood mice) population has exploded over the summer, and the energetic and incautious youngsters are doing their customary acrobatics.

This vertically landing fieldmouse (wood mouse) is a puzzle as there is nothing closer than about 1m from which it could have jumped. Their gymnastics constantly amaze us.
