This apparently solitary fox fits nicely into the camera frame for this portrait.

There is a rabbit burrow entered from under the lower slab, and the Fox at the top seems to be waiting hopefully for a incautious Rabbit to appear.
15 minutes later we are surprised to see a Fox 'Cub' in a similar position.
90 minutes later, as the day gets lighter, a baby Rabbit ventures out - now in comparative safety.

Two trail cameras catch a Fox time-stamped 2 minutes apart (we try to keep them accurate to a minute) we have to assume that between a visit to the Round Pond (left) and passing the Duck Pond the Fox captured an unwary bird, from it's size we guess a Rook or Jackdaw.

These two photos, about half an hour apart, appear to be of the same adult Fox roaming the site.

Wouldn't it be interesting to experience the smell of this stone the way a fox does?

The Reeves' Muntjac Deer (left edge) ignores the fox that is presumably barking across the water.

Mid afternoon, in a rough grass field adjacent to our plot, two young foxes foraged and frolicked 50m away from us for half an hour.

Looking over our boundary hedge showed us a Fox ambling away from us along the crop margin. Instead of spotting us and galloping away the animal turned and walked towards the hedge (top left and right) and then started ambling back towards us, wandering left and right along the weed-killed margin. We think It suddenly spotted the humans next to bottom on the left, but continued it's amble, finally turning towards the hedge and walking through it.

Surely a moment of recognition of the camera or humans, but we kept still and the fox continued its amble towards us.

The Fox appeared on the other side of the hedge, from where it crossed over the farm road (top of image) and disappeared into the crop.

Foxes are among our most usual night visitors.

An hour after midnight this adult Fox arrives with what must be a Corvid (Rook or Jackdaw). The Fox carries it up the mound, probably over the top, and a minute later reappears going the other way.
"Where are those cubs this is for?"

This rather thin adult Fox streaks past the camera with an unfortunate Corvid (presumably Crow, Rook or Jackdaw) grasped in their mouth. This was mid morning so Cubs must need a feed - Foxes normally eat small prey near where they catch it.

This Fox seems to have a Pigeon in its mouth as it trots away from Round Pond.

Here a Fox shows us why they visit our patch on most nights - here leaving at the east hedge gap, complete with a good sized Rabbit clamped in their jaws.

6 minutes later the camera some 30 metres away catches this Fox carrying away what seems to be a Rook. It is most likely the same Fox - the camera badly underexposed the image meaning the work-up has left the colours rather dubious.

The distance + poor light make it hard to identify what this Fox has caught to take home for Breakfast. Wrong colour for a Rabbit or Pigeon, too big for a rodent, so we guess a corvid of some sort.

A bit of a mystery as this Fox apparently exits our site onto the concrete access track with something quite large in the mouth. The first image is overexposed, but the remainder give an idea of the size of the prey item. We at first thought it might be a Pheasant, but the regular male has since been seen 'present and correct', and a female has also appeared.
Large Rabbit, Hare, Large Pigeon?
After watching a Fox take a Stoat in a recent 'BBC TV 'Winterwatch' (you can catch it on YouTube) we could believe that the prey is almost anything!

Just before dawn 2 days later we see this adult Fox carrying a quite large prey item rather laboriously across the grass by the Duck Pond. Other images suggest that this is most likely a Hare. Regular visits by prey animals get noticed by their hunters.
