The Reeves' Muntjac Deer Fawn seems to have lost his stripes.
We now know that this is a male - the antler Pedicles are beginning to form.

Ahh! - the Reeve's Muntjac Deer Fawn is caught in
just this moment at the east hedge gap. This image is
2 weeks after the one with mother above, and the Fawn is now
often seen without Mum.

We have been enjoying dozen of pics of Reeve's Muntjac Deer around the site, but
always in the marginal quality of trail cams even in the day.
So we were really pleased to see this tiny fawn wandering through the meadow site.

Reeves' Muntjac Deer Fawn and Mum at the end of the orchard.
We don't catch them both in the same photo-frame much now - this is
the best of the week with both in the same pic.

We had started to think of the Reeve's Muntjac Deer as rather independent, but here a
possibly by chance, possibly not, encounter at the SW corner between Fawn and what must
be Mum led to 5 minutes of affectionate grooming of the youngster and eventually exit though
the south hedge. If you look carefully at the top of the bottom right picture, you will see
Mum looking back, past a grass blade, at her Fawn to check that it is following.

Based on sizes relative to Mum, we THINK that we now have THREE
Reeve's Muntjac Fawns (and therefore three mothers) visiting our
patch.
Here Mum, and maybe the youngster, stop by the Duck-shaped pond for a drink.
We rate this Fawn as the 'middle sized' one.

The young Reeves' Muntjac Deer Fawn browsing some of the clover and maybe Buttercups.
We have noticed before that these Deer eat a very varied diet, and usually only some of
what they like at any one visit.

As the sun rises we catch this absurdly beautiful little Reeve's Muntjac Fawn
photographing itself at the edge of the frame. We can't say that we had noticed
an obviously pregnant doe.

2 days after seeing the Reeve's Muntjac family in the orchard, here they are
a little less tightly grouped walking past Round pond. On the left is the Fawn
partly obscured by the Daffodils, along with mother, and within one minute
we see Dad with his little sharp antlers.
