After crossing the 10m side grass strip the female Roe Deer seems to leap for Joy back on the softer footing.

We first spotted this female Roe Deer speeding over the fallow field (maybe 70m away) away from our patch and towards the Farm Road entrance.
The appearance of the Roe Deer here, and of the hedges is incredibly rich, lit by the rising sun - we haven't enhanced the colours.

Running over the concrete track is probably a bit rough on the Roe Deer's little hooves and a little less elegant, and just reaching to land on the softer ground off the edge of the concrete.

A week after the male Roe Deer with magnificent antlers, we see what we guess is a young male, still with single spike Antlers in Velvet, spending 6 hours after midnight wandering around the site.

Our only sighting of this Roe Deer on this day - just after noon - at the quietly rising Round Pond. She is 'trotting along' in the foreground around the edge of the pond left rear.

The day after we saw the male Roe Deer tis female visited, here staring at the camera. Did she hear a sound from the camera that we have never detected?

Finally a second visit to Round Pond.
This montage goes lower right, left and top.

Half an hour after the female Roe Deer visited the mound, a glance over the southern hedge showed her walking through the Wheat Crop along one of the sprayer tractor ruts. She ambled down the rut but somehow detected the distant presence of a human, and decided to depart.

The clay soil along the crop margins makes a good medium for catching animal tracks. On the right a Roe Deer leaves Hoof prints, and on the upper left a badger shows us the wonderful claws.

... a narrow bit of path between the south hedge and the Duck pond has been eroded to bare mud by thousands of our and creatures winter footsteps. Roe Deer obviously pass this way as well - multiple overlapping hoof-prints would be all we know of them if not for the trail-cams.

At another camera we see a Roe deer for only the second time (see also 12 May 2010) identified for us by the guy who sold us our second camera at specialist site http://www.digitalwildcams.co.uk

A lovely male Roe Deer displaying his characteristic antlers - strangely 'crusty' at the base and with only 2 (as here) or 3 points.

This male Roe Deer is a new individual - the Antlers more developed than the previous male, and once free of 'velvet' they do not continue to grow.

This male Roe Deer spent several hours wandering around the plot, taking a variety of IR monochrome Selfies as he went. This is the only one at a hi-resolution site. We count 3 Antler points (per Antler), one of which has just started to emerge from the 'velvet'.

Having startled the Roe Deer in the meadow, we later discovered that the camera at the Round Pond has already 'seen' the Roe Deer.

Ref: 20191002_bu5_20190813_1626_300+1627_301-303_sc1 roe deer male 2-5 of 5 (montage)(r+mb id@768).jpg

This male Roe Deer (of 3 individual males seem in the last couple of weeks) spent 20 minutes wandering around the site. The Deer entered at the south hedge (but NOT at the camera that monitors the normal hedge gap), walked diagonally to near the East hedge gap, went back to visit the mound, then the woodland feeding site (the coloured pic), Round Pond and finally walks past the Duck-shaped pond. Where he went then we have no idea.

This male Roe Deer spent an hour and a half wandering over our site. Here he is at the bottom of the hedge at the South Boundary.

Now the male Roe Deer is 80 metres north quietly walking past the mound.

The last sighting of the male Roe Deer is in the middle of the plot.
