Seeing a Red Kite in the far distance circling in a Thermal up-draft is normally
followed by the bird disappearing into the haze. This time though the bird made
a leisurely drift toward us, and eventually went almost overhead. Here is about
half a second of powered flight, spread out vertically a little to see the outlines.

The Red Kite makes a slightly awkward rise and twist in flight as it avoids the
11kV power lines. This accurately positioned sequence is over about 1.5 seconds

This individual, head twisted sideways, has some sort of prey in their claws
from which the bird is biting pieces from.

A Red Kite spent just a minute or two circling quite close to us
while hitching a ride on a nearby thermal. Red Kites fly rather
slowly - this accurate montage is of alternate frames to avoid overlap.
