It soon wandered off and a pair of carrion crows really took
exception to its presence and harassed it until we lost sight of
the group in the haze.

Red Kite activity now overwhelms the occasional Buzzard sighting.
Here this Kite was making a Bee-line for something well out of our view.
Accurate montage over half-a second.

As the Red Kite flew upwards and away, the birds head is just going down for
another peck, as the bird serendipitously passes against an airliner contrail.

Having escaped an annoying Rook, this Red Kite brings the prey
forwards in the Talons to have a bit of it as an in-flight snack.
This is about half a second of action.

eventually powered away with wings rather than 'Sun power'.

One takes off, here caught departing.

This Red Kite swings round to fly over and land near this bird kill in an adjoining field.
The landing bird is accurately montaged at 8 fps skipping the frames as indicated.
The right hand landed bird is shifted right for clarity.
A second bird (lower left) basically stands still throughout the 2 seconds.

A vividly coloured Red Kite flies in to the same kill.
At 8 frames per second this just fits using successive frames.
No, its NOT the same bird pic 5 times - look at the subtle changes in tail and wing tips.

This red kite made a nice if distant flyby. This is an arbitrary montage of 3 images.
We unusually have the top of the bird as it banked, but this time no wing tags
to report the colours/numbers of. Some of you tell us of dozens of kites at once,
but we are delighted with just the odd one for now.
