Corn grain in paws, this fieldmouse (wood mouse) nibbles elegantly around midnight. Meanwhile 3 slugs radulate their way along in the wet after rain.

We have been putting out fresh twigs of various hedge fruits each day for whatever wants. Here a fieldmouse (wood mouse) is nibbling at a single elderberry in it's paws.

Fieldmice (Wood Mice) have been all over the place last & this week and a bit of rain (about 12mm = half inch) has brought out the slugs and snails as well.

The switch from November to December brought 3 days of almost continuous freezing weather.
Does this Fieldmouse (Wood Mouse) wish his tail was more like a big fluffy Squirrel's, or is he keeping his tail warm against his body?

Converting frozen blackberries into bramble jelly creates loads of strained pulp and pips that go out over a day or 2 as a treat for our guests.
