To a field north of the bridleway growing an Oil-seed Rape crop, we were
delighted to spot a couple of Hares chasing along the far edge of the crop. At
this stage the chased Hare was streaking along - this is barely more than half a
second of travel. The chaser is way out of Frame to the right.

A mid-afternoon visit caught out this Hare hiding in the crop edge.
He/she streaked along the edge of the crop, turned first left onto the
farm road, and ran down the road to disappear behind the weeds.
This is alternate frames (the odd numbers) at about 6 fps

A different montage, just as accurate, from the even numbered
frames, happening to catch more of the Hare in mid-leap.

Here is the Hare after turning left onto the concrete road
bounding along. The camera is now running much more slowly and
irregularly as it has to save the photos already taken.
The obvious colour discontinuity between the
two on the right is NOT the join but a genuine discontinuity of
real life junction of new and 15 year old concrete!

After the last frame above frames 6 to 10 were excessively
random, but the frame rate then became more regular and allowed
this approximately accurate montage of the hare disappearing from
view.

By the time the Hare was 100m away it was more relaxed - here we have taken alternate
frames for the montage so this is about 2 seconds of the run.

This corner of the crop viewed over the farm road from over own east hedge saw
this Hare ambling over the weed-killed margin. At the time neither of us noticed
the Rabbit leaping away in the background.

Its so easy for Hares to hide in the now metre or more high Oil-seed Rape crop
that we rarely get a glimpse. So this one unhurriedly lolloping away from us
across one of the outright dead patches in the crop took our fancy. The legs
look such a mess that it's seems a wonder they don't get tangled. This montage
shifts the Hare to the left each 140mS step. In the 2nd and 3rd images from the
right you can see that the Hare has a torn ear.

This a montage of the hare running comparatively slowly.
The montage is almost accurate (very slight adjustments to avoid
overlaps) at probably about 7 fps, so about 1 second of action here.

two pics as they ran behind the ever growing mound of farm top soil.

After most of the stream of workers have gone home from the 'Farm' some
Hares may dare to come out. This one spent a minute or two on the grass until
late leaver (coming along the road to the right) disturbed this browsing Hare
back into the safety of the crop on the left.
