The Hare, with particularly dark ears, seems to frequent the end of the orchard
and area immediately outside despite it now being more like a building site.

2 weeks later this Hare seems to be almost 'resident' at this South West corner.

This Hare didn't seem bothered by our presence even at Noon. It quietly turned
round and seemed to 'Nod off'. We left it in peace.

In the daytime we saw only Magpies visiting to eat the roadkill Hare - not one
sighting of any other Corvid despite the area being awash with Rooks and a few Jackdaws.

4 days later, at the end of our access track at about 8.45 a.m. we spotted a mound of brown fur
lying in the middle of the road. We took a barrow up the road to it and sadly
discovered that it was a Hare which we brought back to the meadow camera site.
We have to assume that this 'lost' Hare got through the pig-net and onto the
road and met it's end under the wheels of a passing vehicle.

Finally deciding to depart, the hare lolloped across the concrete towards the
grass outside our east hedge.

In the atypical quiet of a public Holiday early morning the lack of traffic
along the business centre track tempted out the hares. This hare running across
the track was photographed at about 4 fps (so about 1.5 seconds here) though the
frame rate was slightly irregular because the camera wasn't set up for it -
these creatures just won't wait until you are ready!

Seeing Hares has always been a rare event here, so when we catch one on-the-run
we keep a finger on the camera button ...

A Hare making a long run over the sprouting crop in the Farm's field. There are
4 times more images than shown here as the Hare disappeared into the distance.
The Hare is remarkably well concealed brown on brown despite us pushing the
contrast as high as reasonable.

The sprouting wheat crop has brought back the Hares. Here there
are 2 - one quietly nibbling the delicious fresh wheat sprouts
(lower left) while the other, for reasons we didn't spot, was
accelerating it's way over the crop. The gull was an unexpected incidental.

A second or two later the Hare seems to have reached full speed.
The frame rate is a bit irregular due to continuous auto-focussing.

This is a field margin along the edge of the bridleway to our north.
We never manage to take a Hare who rests here by surprise -
they can see us way before we arrive from either direction.

From the other side of a hedge (just our heads showing) we didn't
seem to be considered an immediate threat, and this Hare ran down
the grass/bare soil by the crop at just the right speed to get a
close to accurate montage. We have slightly stretched the gap
between 2nd and 3rd from the right to avoid overlap - all the
rest are accurate. The white foreground is the concrete farm
road.

In last weeks 'Springwatch' we were amazed to see the film-makers
reduced to using an infra-red camera drone to even find a Hare.
We had no idea we were so lucky to see them even intermittently while
out walking near the start of the day.

This montage is very stretched along the line of the walk. Hares
look so awkward when ambling about, but the gait clearly works for them.
