This is a bit of a fiddle, but the robin was originally off the
edge of the frame (with tail missing) so we moved him across to
make a more compact offering. Recently seeing more birds and
rabbits together than we are used to - any significance unknown.

Rabbits do little damage here now that we know to protect any new trees,
and we see far fewer than when the surrounding land was cow pasture.
While the Fox is away the Rabbits do play

There are scapes all over the place in the grass.
From this image it looks like it is used for bedding.

Finally got carried off after about 4 days.
We suspect it was bitten up by a fox or badger we didn't
see, but it's a sharp variety and it didn't eat it all.

As animals feed up for the winter, almost everything, including
rabbits normally content with grass, is carrying off pieces of
fruit.

We don't often feature rabbits though they appear in many night
images. But this one carrying off a whole small apple quite
surprised us that they could carry something this big.

The Plum season is upon us, and there is a lot of 'waste' fruit
too damaged for us to eat or store. A Kilogram or so of spoiled
fruit attracts everything from butterflies to foxes. But mostly
rabbits!

An influx of rabbits from the now ploughed meadows has done
nothing to dampen their ardour. This rabbit was weeding a
flowerbed for us, cramming grass into her mouth long after it
seemed to be full.

We have had rabbits around us for the last 20 years, but can't
remember seeing one obviously dust bathing, here in ash.
Photographed by a 'trail camera' over a few seconds.

Rabbits contribute about a third of the pictures taken by
the automatic cameras. This one with a mouth full of apple
peel is a little more interesting than the usual head down
eating or a blur of panic.

a damson fruit, gone by the next frame.

The human un-shelled pea season is upon us. We put out the empty
pods which rapidly vanish - this one into a baby rabbit.

Fieldmice (Wood Mice) normally run from anything larger than themselves, so this
is an unusual paring of a Fieldmouse (Wood Mouse) actively moving towards the
rabbit. Other images and poor grooming of the rabbit suggests that
it was very static and in the early stages of Myxomatosis (many rabbits
here catch it, some recover)

A rabbit is giving this snail a close inspection, but the only
risk to the snail is if the rabbit accidentally treads on it.

Drunken rabbit anybody - insects certainly do get drunk on fermented fruit!

This rabbit suggests a Rabbit form of 'Jessica' from the mixed
Live & animation movie 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit'. We can't
remember seeing a rabbit like this in thousands of (discarded)
rabbit images.

But when Rabbits reach this size they are responsible for a
lots of damage to young trees - hence the sea of plastic you see
at new woodland and hedge plantings protecting the bark of saplings.

A Rabbit at the Meadow site shows us that although Rabbit have good all-round
vision, they can't quite see behind them.
On the other hand Hares CAN see 360 degrees around as you can see in
the second pic at the link

The cold weather has increased the incidence of Rabbits at the camera sites.
This one appears at about 4 a.m.
No Hares seen recently inside or outside our patch.
